The Megger MOM2 is a 220 A handheld micro-ohmmeter for measuring the resistance of circuit breaker contacts, busbar joints, and other high-current links. Its rugged 1 kg design fits in one hand and runs all day on its NiMH battery, making it well suited to substation field work.

An ultra-capacitor stores enough energy to deliver high test current at very low internal resistance, then samples voltage drop and current synchronously to compute resistance. Auto-ranging from 1 µΩ to 1000 mΩ; ±1 % accuracy from 0–1999 µΩ. Selectable minimum-current guarantee at 50 A or 100 A; pass/fail thresholds settable from 1 µΩ to 1999 mΩ. Up to 2200 measurements per charge at 50 A min.

On-board logger stores 180 measurements with timestamps, current, resistance, and pass/fail status. Bluetooth transfers test data to a PC for archiving and reporting. IP54 enclosure, –20 °C to +50 °C operation, complies with IEC 61010-1 (CAT II 50 V). Standards-compliant per IEEE and IEC for breaker contact resistance testing.

This BD-59094 kit bundles the MOM2 instrument with a 5 m separate-lead cable kit — current cable, two 5 m sense cables, and a ground cable for traditional ground-injection measurements (GA-00380 cable kit). Suits applications where you inject the test current through existing grounding rather than directly clamping the test object. Transport case, mains charger, rubber holster, carrying strap, and belt clip are included.

MOM2 Win PC software (free download from megger.com) handles result reporting and instrument calibration; alternatively the MOM2 integrates with Megger's PowerDB asset-management application.
