The Megger MOM2 is a 220 A handheld micro-ohmmeter for measuring the resistance of circuit breaker contacts, busbar joints, and other high-current links. Its rugged 1 kg design fits in one hand and runs all day on its NiMH battery, making it well suited to substation field work.

An ultra-capacitor stores enough energy to deliver high test current at very low internal resistance, then samples voltage drop and current synchronously to compute resistance. Auto-ranging from 1 µΩ to 1000 mΩ; ±1 % accuracy from 0–1999 µΩ. Selectable minimum-current guarantee at 50 A or 100 A; pass/fail thresholds settable from 1 µΩ to 1999 mΩ. Up to 2200 measurements per charge at 50 A min.

On-board logger stores 180 measurements with timestamps, current, resistance, and pass/fail status. Bluetooth transfers test data to a PC for archiving and reporting. IP54 enclosure, –20 °C to +50 °C operation, complies with IEC 61010-1 (CAT II 50 V). Standards-compliant per IEEE and IEC for breaker contact resistance testing.

This BD-59090 kit bundles the MOM2 instrument with GA-90000 Kelvin probe test cables — 2× 1.3 m (4 ft), 16 mm² conductors, one of which has the trig button for hands-on test triggering at the probe tip. Transport case, mains charger (100–250 V AC), rubber holster, carrying strap, and belt clip are all included.

MOM2 Win PC software (free download from megger.com) handles result reporting and instrument calibration; alternatively the MOM2 integrates with Megger's PowerDB asset-management application.
