Type K thermocouples are stocked in 316SS or Inconel. Other combinations are special-order — contact us.

5Probe Length (2"–60")

How to measure: U-length (below the fitting). Probe length is measured from the BOTTOM of the fitting/head to the probe tip — the part of the sheath that sits inside the process. Anything above the fitting is not counted. (Driven by your Step 6 termination — change the termination and this guidance updates.)

These probe lengths pair with Valley's common thermowell stock (3/4" longer than the probe). Picking one means we likely have a matching thermowell ready to ship together.

6Termination / Fitting

Spring-loaded fitting (+$35)Internal spring keeps the probe tip pressed against the bottom of the thermowell — improves response time and accuracy. Recommended whenever the probe goes into a thermowell.
